On April 29, 2025, Caltrans District 2 held our annual Workers Memorial, a solemn occasion to honor the men and women from our district—and across the state—who have lost their lives while working to keep our highways safe for all.
Since 1924, we have tragically lost 15 employees in District 2. Their dedication and sacrifice are never forgotten.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Piper Jonathan Pangburn and Taps player Joel Robertson for generously sharing their time and talents to make the ceremony especially meaningful. We also sincerely thank Mark Robertson, Chaplain for the Anderson Police Department and former Caltrans District 2 employee, for delivering the invocation, and Lieutenant Lacey Carney, Susanville Area CHP Commander, for her powerful and inspiring remarks.
