Caltrans Announces Snow Plow Naming Contest

SHARE NOW

Caltrans is seeking your help naming its fleet of snowplows in a fun and creative contest that runs through February 15th.

Individuals and classrooms have the chance to contribute a fitting and imaginative name that will be displayed on Caltrans’ snowplows, which play a pivotal role in ensuring safer winter roads.

The contest offers not only the opportunity to make a mark in history but also a chance to win up to $150 in gift cards. Students in grades K-12 have an additional incentive, with the winning classroom receiving a special gift card.
The process is simple— The contest is divided into Caltrans districts 1-11, and each district winner will be awarded a $50 gift card. The 11 selected names from these districts will then compete for the grand prize.

While creativity is encouraged, submissions must be fun, appropriate, and limited to 20 characters, including letters and spaces. It’s important to note that any entries featuring profanity or inappropriate language will not be considered.

The contest has been made possible through the collaborative efforts of Caltrans and the California Office of Traffic Safety, with prizes provided by iHeartMedia.

Submit your snowplow name ideas and help Caltrans clear the way for safer winter roads. The winners will be announced, and the grand prize recipient will be revealed, adding a touch of individuality to the mighty snowplows that keep the roads safe during winter.
