The BLM’s Northern California District Resource Advisory Council is searching to fill one vacancy in the seat representing federal grazing permit holders. The candidate must hold a current federal livestock grazing permit.

The council provides crucial advice on public land management issues. Acting BLM California State Director Gordon Toevs emphasized the agency’s role in advising on various programs, from conservation to renewable energy.

As part of the council, candidates will help assist the BLM with recommendations on critical issues such as land use planning, fire management, recreation, oil and gas exploration, and wildlife management. Each council’s membership aims to reflect a balanced outlook necessary for the BLM’s mission of managing public lands for multiple uses.

Nominees must be California residents with relevant expertise and a commitment to collaborative decision-making. Applications, including letters of reference and other qualifications, are due by August 16.
