BLM Begins Pile Burning Project – Smoke Visible from HWY 36

SHARE NOW

Starting tomorrow you may see smoke along the Bizz Johnson trail from highway 36.

The Bureau of Land Management will begin a pile-burning project in the 2020 Hog fire burn scar. They will be clearing tree limbs and brush to reduce wildfire risk and clear the landscape. You can expect to only see light smoke from the burn about 5 miles west of Susanville.

The BLM will only complete the burn project if conditions allow.
