You will have a chance to hear from Golden State Natural Resources on a proposed forest and wildfire resilience project next month. GSNR is a nonprofit with a mission to help rural communities restore forest health and revitalize the wood product market. They aim to do so by processing excess forest vegetation into pelletized fuel sources for renewable energy. Here in Lassen County GSNR is looking to build a processing facility within the Modoc Plateau. The non-profit aims to release a Notice of Preparation following a series of open house events that will initiate the CEQA review process. GSNR will host one locally to educate you on the projects economic and ecological benefits and its short-term impacts. Here’s what you can expect, a formal presentation from GSNR on the project followed by a Q&A session. Drinks and snacks will be provided. The open house will be held at the Bieber Veteran’s Hall, Wednesday May 11th at 6:30pm. There will be time during the CEQA review process to share your comments as well.
