The final increase in recreational whitewater flow will take place this weekend on the North fork of the Feather River for this season.
PG&E will increase river flows on the 8.3-mile stretch of the Feather River between the Rock Creek dam and rock creek powerhouse near Storrie, Flow will be increased to 800 cubic feet per second producing class 3 to 5 rapids. These rapids are not suitable for tubes and are only meant for skilled paddlers.
By Sunday after 2 pm flows will gradually decrease back to seasonal flows.
Each year PG&E works together with the American Whitewater organization to host four weekends of increased whitewater recreation during the summer months.
