Banner Lassen Medical Center (BLMC) has received the Gold Seal of Approval for Critical Access Hospital Accreditation from The Joint Commission after an unannounced onsite review conducted from July 23 to 25.
For over 70 years, The Joint Commission has been a leader in promoting quality improvement and patient safety in healthcare, utilizing comprehensive survey methods and standards. During their evaluation, The Joint Commission team assessed BLMC’s compliance with Critical Access Hospital standards in various areas, including emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and patient’s rights and responsibilities.
BLMC CEO Sandy Duggar credited the achievement to the diligent work of the hospital staff, emphasizing that the award reflects Banner Lassen’s commitment to exceptional patient care and the community’s well-being.
The Joint Commission commended BLMC for its dedication to advancing safety, quality, equity, and compassion for all patients.
Banner Lassen MC in Susanville has been part of the community since 1883 when it opened as Lassen County Hospital.
