Captain Bollinger with the Susanville Police Department says the altercation appears to be a family dispute and alcohol may have led to a verbal argument leading up to the stabbing. Peter had only been in the U.S. for one month, visiting Susanville with his uncle. The pair were set to head to Alaska to become fishermen. Peter has been booked into the Lassen County jail for one count of homicide and is set to be arraigned in court today. Captain Bollinger in response to the recent series of violent crimes said that there is a different element and oddity to recent events and mental health is a major contributor. Cpt. Bollinger added the department is hiring new officers who will likely hit the streets in the coming months with the intent to hire a few more to bolster police presence throughout the city.
