Your drive along the West shore of Lake Almanor is about to get slowdown. Caltrans and Lamb Unlimited General Engineering plan to begin work Aug. 29 on a 400,000 dollar project to improve the water drainage along State Route 147.
You will see Crews replacing culverts and making other drainage improvements at various locations along the route. These will be from just about 3.5 miles north of the 89 junction to about 1.5 miles north of the junction with County Road A13. You will encounter one-way traffic control at multiple locations throughout the stretch that will add about a total of 10 minutes to your travel time.
Delays will be during the week, Mondays through Fridays during daytime hours. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid-September.
Caltrans has also rolled out an all new feature to its Quickmap app to bring you real-time road updates. The NEW FEATURE is a push notification that allows you to automatically receive real-time notifications about nearby road closures, emergencies, and other traffic updates.
You can download QuickMap for free for immediate traffic information, that can detail lane and road closures, emergency incidents, rest area locations, electronic highway signs, camera snapshots, and active chain control requirements.
