The Countdown is on to Track Santa

The American and Canadian aerospace and maritime warning defense military organization, NORAD’s, joint efforts will officially turn a focus toward tracking Santa in just two more days.

More than 1200 uniformed and Department of Defense civilians help track Santa on Christmas Eve with operations officially beginning at 4 am.

Predecessor Continental Air Defense Command and NORAD have been tracking Santa since 1955; throughout their years of keeping a close watch on his worldly travels, they say he has never crashed into anything despite traveling faster than starlight. Yet more staggering, the official trackers say Santa’s weight at landing is an additional 1000 pounds after eating all the milk and cookies left out for him by children worldwide.

Santa is set to begin his travels, with the first gifts of Christmas delivered in the South Pacific and the final ones typically in Central and South America, but you can find his exact location on Christmas Eve by calling a NORAD staff member at 1-877-HI-NORAD.
