Lassen County Results: Measure V Defeated, Measure W Passes
Final tallies show that Measure V fell short despite a strong turnout. With 3,930 “Yes” votes against 4,485 “No” votes, the measure missed the required two-thirds supermajority. The total ballots cast reached 8,415 out of 8,818 contest totals. This outcome confirms that law enforcement and public safety funding will likely remain unchanged.
Conversely, Measure W, a bond measure supporting improvements at Shaffer School, achieved the 55% supermajority required for passage. The measure is holding with 55.2% of the vote, surpassing the threshold with a slim margin and securing funds for critical facility upgrades and enhancements to the learning environment.
Lassen County reported a voter turnout of 58.61% from 15,046 registered voters.
Plumas County: Measure D Update Expected Next Week
In neighboring Plumas County, there has been no further update on Measure D, which aimed to boost public safety funding but fell short in preliminary results. The
Plumas County elections office, with 900 ballots following the election awaiting processing, anticipates the next update early next week, leaving the measure’s fate undecided until then.
Election results must meet a December 5th deadline for certification.
