The town of Chester is set to open its first annual Ice Skating rink tomorrow. The panels for the rink and its enclosure were laid and put together yesterday afternoon at Chester park in the basketball courts; by the evening, the rink was ready. This is part of a larger initiative to bring community-wide events to the area and stimulate economic growth in the fire-stricken region. It accompanies the town’s other efforts, including the Town Plaza project and summer farmers markets. The rink will be open on Fridays and the weekends through March. You can help ensure the rink’s future by donating to the efforts of the Lake Almanor Area Chamber by visiting their website or Facebook page.
