If you were affected by any recent wildfires, the Honey Lake Valley Resource Conservation District wants to help you recover. If you cannot afford to rehabilitate your land, the district has an application to provide you with assistance through the Lassen County Post Fire Recovery Assistance Program. Through the program, you will collaborate with the Honey Lake Valley RCD Lassen Fire Safe Council and selected contractors after prepping your land. The program can also help you with hazard tree removal and replanting to reduce dead forest fuels, restore forest health and resilience, stabilize the soil and reduce erosion from the burned landscape, and restore wildlife habitats. You can apply if you were affected by the Dixie, Beckwourth, or Hog and Sheep Fires. In collaboration with the other agencies, the district hopes to improve about 1500 acres of private lands in the district. To apply, you can visit honeylakevalleyrcd.us
