The Reno National Weather Service says to prepare yourself for a hot Labor Day weekend. Near record highs will impact the region through the holiday. Unusual warm temperatures overnight will accompany daytime highs pushing triple-digit heat by the end of the week. Be prepared if making plans outdoors to have plenty of water and other sun-protective measures. A slight chance of thunderstorms later this afternoon may also increase outflow winds bringing periods of dust and low visibility. Winds will also continue through the week to get some relief from the heat.
