A pellet producing plant for renewable energy bringing potentially 300 new jobs to the county will be coming to Nubieber. Golden State Natural Resources has purchased a site to build the facility that will process 700K metric tons of pellets. Greg Norton, President and CEO of GSNR, a non-profit organization explains the company’s mission to the board of Supervisors during thier regular meeting. The construction of the pellet plant benefits not only with the creation of job and the expansion of local trucking companies but the facility will be processing timber that is not usable for saw logs in forested areas in need of thinning, as well as processing viable log decks from the recent wildfires in the area, with additional hopes to address the regions juniper problem. Ground breaking on the construction of the new plant is expected by late next year with full production in just a few years following. You can attend a formal presentation from GSNR on the project followed by a Q&A session at the Bieber Veteran’s Hall, today at 6:30pm.
