You can expect a longer commute this week through highway 89. Today Caltrans starts investigatory work for project development for the Almanor West Rehabilitation Project. You can expect to see crews will at various locations from the junction of 89&36 south of Chester to the 89/147 junction west of Canyondam through Thursday. There will be one-way traffic control between 6am and 6pm with. You can plan for 15-minute delays along that route. For an alternative to avoid the wait times you can take Highway 147 around the lake to get Chester. Caltrans has no work along 147. You can also continue to plan for a total of 30 minutes delays between the Greenville Wye and Canyon Dam on Highway 89.
