The middle of the North Fork of the Feather River will open back up for use as the Plumas National Forest modifies a forest closure. The area has been under closure since the North Complex fire that burned two years ago. Restoration and repair efforts continue in the campgrounds, trailheads, and the two bridges within the closure, but Forest Supervisor Chris Carlton says this portion of the river is an important recreational site especially during the spring season. You will have to know that only the River corridor is open for use while the recreational sites along the river are not. The full closure is not expected to be lifted for another two years. A map of the newly modified closure can be found by visiting the USDA forest service website.
