Motorists traveling on State Route 299 through Trinity County should plan for brief delays over the next several weeks as Caltrans continues paving operations.
According to Caltrans District 2, maintenance crews from Weaverville and Trinity Center are paving sections of the highway between Fawn Lodge and the Buckhorn Sandhouse. Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes while work is underway.
Crews recently completed paving work on Oregon Mountain and are wrapping up operations in that area before moving to additional locations along SR 299.
Caltrans reminds drivers to slow down in work zones, follow directions from flaggers and posted signs, give workers and equipment plenty of space, and allow extra travel time. The agency says the paving work is part of ongoing efforts to maintain safe and reliable highways.
