3-6 Fire Grows to 184 Acres; Evacuation Warning Remains in Effect

Firefighters continue to make progress on the 3-6 Fire burning in the Dixie Valley area near Snag Hill Lookout, despite the fire growing to 184 acres, according to CAL FIRE.

The vegetation fire was first reported late Thursday night at approximately five acres. Aircraft and ground crews, including firefighters reassigned from other nearby incidents, responded quickly to begin suppression efforts.

Incident Command reports crews are making good progress on both flanks of the fire, while a bulldozer is constructing an indirect containment line across the head of the fire.

An Evacuation Warning remains in effect for Zone LAS-147, according to the Genasys Evacuation Map. Residents in the warning area should be prepared to leave if conditions worsen.

No information on containment or the cause of the fire has been released. Fire officials continue to monitor the incident and will provide updates as they become available.
