Floriston Fire is about 300 acres. An additional 4 Charlie strike teams (20 wildland engines), 4 Lima strike teams (8 dozers), 10 water tenders, and 6 Golf strike teams (12 hand crews) have been requested per Incident Command.
Westbound I-80 is currently CLOSED at the Nevada State Line due to a vegetation fire on the hillside near Farad.
Fire personnel are actively working to contain the fire. Motorists should avoid the area, expect significant delays, and allow emergency personnel room to work safely.
There is currently no estimated time of reopening (ETO). We will provide updates as more information becomes available.
