The Plumas County Board of Supervisors will take up several departmental matters at its upcoming meeting, including election certification, public works regulations, and a regional recreation grant partnership.
Under Elections, the board will consider accepting the certification of results for the June 2, 2026 Primary Election following a presentation from Elections Official Marcy DeMartile. Action on the item may follow discussion.
In Public Works/Roads, supervisors will hold a public hearing on a proposed resolution to revise the fee schedule for solid waste collection services in Franchise Service Area No. 2, operated by Intermountain Disposal. County officials note the change would have no impact on the general fund and would be paid through solid waste revenues.
Among the action items, supervisors are expected to consider appointing Lynn Loescher to the Feather River Canyon Community Services District. The appointment would take effect July 7, 2026, and run for a four-year term, following a nomination by Supervisor Goss.
Two additional public hearings are scheduled for 11:00 a.m.:
One ordinance would amend county code to adjust speed limits on Lee Road, pending board approval.
A second ordinance would establish a commercial weight limit on Redberg Avenue, Pioneer Road, and Rogers Avenue, also requiring board action.
Both roadway items are listed as having no general fund impact and would proceed through a first reading with a roll call vote.
In Planning and Community Outreach, staff will seek board awareness and concurrence on participation in the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship initiative through the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities (RERC) program. The effort supports an application for an Outdoor Recreation Roundtable grant focused on rural outdoor recreation and public health improvements.
