Forty new parole agents are stepping into the field after graduating from the Basic Parole Agent Academy in Galt.

The ceremony was held today at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center, marking the end of 13 weeks of intensive training. Now, these graduates are heading out to communities across California to begin their careers with the Division of Adult Parole Operations.

Officials say the academy is designed to prepare agents for the real-world demands of the job—balancing public safety, supervision, and accountability as they work with individuals re-entering society.

Division leaders congratulated the class, saying their commitment strengthens the future of parole operations and helps make communities safer statewide.

DAPO Director Bryan Bishop called the graduation “the beginning of a rewarding career dedicated to public safety and service,” and encouraged the new agents to continue learning as they take on their responsibilities in the field.
