After years of helping organize community events, support local youth programs, and volunteer wherever needed, one familiar face in the Lake Almanor area is finally getting a seat of honor in this year’s parade.
The Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce has announced Cheri McIntire as the 2026 Grand Marshal, recognizing her decades of service and involvement throughout the Chester community.
Since moving to the area, McIntire has volunteered with a long list of local organizations and events, including youth sports, Girl Scouts, PTA, Rotary youth leadership camps, the Major Appliance Cleanup Project, the Fourth of July Duck Race, and several community festivals and park projects.
Community leaders say her willingness to help bring people together has made a lasting impact on generations of local families.
This year’s honor celebrates not only her volunteer work, but also the spirit of community involvement that continues to shape the Lake Almanor region.
