Feather River Eagles Rally Twice to Defeat Hartnell and Advance to Regional Final

Feather River came from behind twice to beat Hartnell College 11-6 in the deciding game of the NorCal Super Regional at the Eagles Nest.

The Golden Eagles scored four runs in the second inning, four more in the fifth, and three in the eighth to secure the win. Each time they scored, they erased a deficit.

In the second inning, trailing 1-0, Noah Carrington doubled to bring in two runs. Carter Reilly followed with a single that drove in two more. The inning started with three consecutive batters reaching base through an error, a walk, and a hit by pitch.

The fifth inning saw Feather River down 5-4 when Walker DesRosier singled home two runs. Kory Chu added another run with a single.

After the Panthers cut the lead to 8-6 in the eighth, Josh Davies hit a two-RBI double that helped Feather River add three more runs.

Pitcher Tanner Hail worked seven innings, allowing two earned runs, six hits, four walks, and striking out eight. Jayden Andrade finished with a two-inning save, giving up one run on three hits with two strikeouts.

Feather River will now face the West Valley Vikings in the 3C2A Regional final. The Golden Eagles hold a 34-13 record, while West Valley, seeded ninth, stands at 32-13-1. West Valley recently surprised many by sweeping Fresno City College, which had a 40-3 record.

The next series begins Friday with games Friday at 2 pm, Saturday at 1 pm, and a possible Sunday noon game. The winner advances to the Final Four on May 23 at the Great Park in Irvine.
