Reward Offered for Information in Dr Richard Meinert Homicide Investigation

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward in the amount of $5000 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect(s) wanted in connection with the homicide of Dr. Richard Meinert Trinity Way Janesville, CA.

On June 22, 2014 in the evening hours, a suspect(s) removed a grate and broke a window in a possible burglary attempt when Dr. Richard Meinert entered and interrupted the suspect(s). A struggle ensued, a shot was fired, and Dr. Meinert was hit in the chest. Dr. Meinert was a veterinarian, and the suspect may have been after drugs kept on the premise. The suspect(s) may have left a black flat brimmed baseball cap with an “Adidas” logo in orange at the scene. The case is still under investigation.

Lassen County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s). Lassen Crime Stoppers emphasizes that tips may be submitted completely anonymously. If your information leads to an arrest or further investigation, you may be eligible for the cash reward.
