Plumas County Forest and Meadow Protected for Future Generations and Youth Education

Feather River Land  trust announced that 1,025 acres of forest, meadow, and wildlife habitat in Plumas County, near Portola. FRLT acquired this scenic landscape to protect its conservation values and transferred it to local outdoor education youth nonprofit Sierra Nevada Journeys  This will now be protected forever!  The property—adjacent to Sierra Nevada Journeys’ existing outdoor education camp—more than doubles the acreage to engage 10,000+ youth annually in hands-on learning about science, land stewardship, and climate-resilience. It features outstanding wildlife habitat, springs, and Feather River tributaries, and  it will remain intact and be a place for kids to learn and explore.
