St Francis Hotel Fire Debris Removal and Demolition Begins with Street Closures in Susanville

Beginning this week, the contractor working under the direction of the court-appointed Receiver
will begin removing fire debris and conducting the strategic demolition of the remaining structure
of the St. Francis Hotel, located at 830 Main Street in Susanville.
The cleanup and demolition work is expected to continue over the next several weeks. To allow
for safe operations, Union Street, between Main Street and South Alley, will be closed for the
duration of the project.
In addition, the number 2 lane of eastbound Main Street (adjacent to the St. Francis Hotel
property) may need to be closed as the work progresses toward the front of the building.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and use caution when traveling through this area.
