➡️Swift Complex-Peak Fire Overview: Firefighters are making steady progress on the Peak Fire, strengthening containment lines and conducting tactical patrols along the perimeter. While some rollout continues to pose a spread risk in the northern part of the fire, crews are actively monitoring these areas and responding quickly to emerging threats. Firefighters are reinforcing contingency lines and excess equipment is being redistributed to support operations at other active wildfires. This includes flying out via helicopter equipment from the spike camps that were established along the ridge east of Granite Peak.
➡️Swift Complex Resources: 575 personnel
➡️Lick Fire Overview: The Lick Fire is now under the command and management of Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Please visit their website for more information and updates.
➡️Current Fire Weather: High temperatures in the low-70s. South-southwest winds 9 mph gusting to 25 mph. Relative humidity around 30% during afternoon hours, recovering to 55-65% overnight. This cooling trend will continue into early next week with a chance of light rain.
➡️Long Term: There is a high likelihood of rain early next week. Rain on a fire can help moderate fire behavior, but light rains often do not provide enough water to extinguish large wildfires. Current estimates are calling for 0.25 to 0.50 inches of rain from the storm.
➡️Closures: The Shasta-Trinity National Forest has issued a Fire Closure Order – Forest Order No. 14-25-22. This is effective August 30, 2025, through January 31, 2026. To view the order and map, please click on the link to Peak Fire Closure Order: https://www.fs.usda.gov/…/alerts/peak-fire-closure-order
➡️Flight Restrictions: A temporary flight restriction (TFR) over the Peak Fire remains, but with updated boundaries. Please check official sources prior to flying in the area. If you fly, we can’t.
➡️Public Safety: Recreators are asked to stay away from trails and trailheads in the Long Canyon, Four Lakes Loop, Stoney Ridge, Stuart Fork, Swift Creek, Granite Peak, and North Fork Swift Creek as these are primary access routes for firefighters. Please be advised that there will be increased fire traffic on Hwy 3. Clark Springs Campground, Day Use Area, Beach and Boat Ramp are closed to the public to support firefighting operations.
