2025  Jr. Livestock Auction Results

Red, White, and Blue with a Mountain View at the Lassen County Fair culminated with a bang at the Junior Livestock Auction! The sale raised over $430,884.23 with the sale of market steers, dairy steers, swine, lambs, rabbits, and goats, Once again, the youth exhibitors experienced a tremendous show of support from the community and surrounding areas of Lassen County!

Following are the results:

The 2025 auction began with the sale of the Market Swine. The Supreme Champion Market hog raised by Brooklyn Schier, Dyer Mountain 4-H, was purchased by Ed Staub & Sons for $12.50/lb. and Hat Creek Construction bought the Reserve Grand Champion Hog from Averie Pratt, Johnstonville 4-H for $12.50/ lb.

Grimes Genetics bought the Supreme Champion rabbit meat pen from Aaron Christen, South County 4-H, for $1,100 The Reserve Champion meat pen was raised by Hailey Sandoval, Susanville FFA and sold to Ed Staub & Sons for $550.

Susanville Supermarket IGA purchased the Grand Champion Market lamb for $25/lb. from Mattingly Cocilova, Westwood FFA and Dersch Apiaries, Park Legacy Queens, and Ryan Burris bought the Reserve Grand Champion lamb from Tyla Murchinson, Richmond 4-H, for $31.00/lb. The Jack and Pat Haslem Memorial Award for the outstanding local bred and fed lamb went to Samantha Medvin, Susanville FFA and the lamb was bred by local breeders Terry and Debi Savage.

Paige Parker, Richmond 4-H, topped the market goat sale by selling the Supreme Grand Champion  to Savage Feed Supply for $48.00/lb! The Reserve Champion and recipient of the Local bred and Fed award was exhibited by Carlee Parker, Richmond 4-H, and the goat, bred by Lazy S Boer goats, sold to Shane Hecox for $20.00/lb.

Steers! Once again, one of the Baehler sisters – Reagan Baehler from Westwood FFA – exhibited the Supreme Champion Steer. Hat Creek Construction bought the steer for $7.25/lb. Paige Parker, Susanville FFA, sold her Reserve Grand Champion Market Steer $6.50/lb to Barnum Farming/Diamond 7 Livestock. The Local Bred and Fed award went to Corrie Hastey with her steer bred by Wolf Ranch.

The Howe sisters exhibited the Champion Dairy and Reserve Champion Dairy Steers. The Supreme champion was exhibited by Kacee Howe, Milford 4-H, and sold for $11,925.00 to Premier Mortgage & Supervisor Aaron Albaugh.  Kenni Hower, Susanville FFA, sold the Reserve Champion Dairy steer to Grimes Genetics and Wolf Ranch for $7,676.25
