Lassen National Forest Enhances Firefighter Readiness with Annual Training and Emergency Response Drill

On June 18th, LassenNationalForest conducted its annual fire preparedness review plan for firefighters. During this event, personnel activated smoke devices to practice locating and responding to fire incidents. They utilized progressive hose lays, cut lines, coordinated water drops, and managed medical emergencies effectively.

In addition to fire training, lassenhotshots faced a medical training scenario where they demonstrated their quick response skills. They successfully transported an ‘injured’ employee to medical care in just 22 minutes, highlighting the critical importance of the golden hour in emergency situations. The team worked cohesively, integrating new firefighters into tactical and communication training, contributing to a successful preparedness review.
