Save Saturday, June 7, to celebrate National Trails Day with an interpretative nature hike at Mountain Meadows Reservoir, south of Westwood.
Meet at 10 AM at the Mountain Meadows Gateway, a gravel parking lot at the end of Delwood Street in Westwood. Delwood turns to gravel at the railroad crossing. Travel 0.25 mile beyond to the Gateway, an 8-acre property on the edge of the reservoir that’s managed by the Feather River Land Trust.
Spring is undeniably a beautiful season to visit the meadow, Robbers Creek, and the reservoir. The colorful scenery is a photographer’s dream. The Gateway area supports a diversity of plants and wildlife so bring your binoculars!
A great way to start your day (any day actually!) is a stop at the Blue Ox Coffee Shop at 313 Birch Street in Westwood. Enjoy homemade pastries, speciality chocolates, and really good coffee before you start your hike. We hope you can join us!
