Lassen County has issued a new request for proposals (RFP) for managing Diamond Mountain Speedway, prompted by an unexpected surge of interest. The deadline for submissions is April 10. Initially, the county received little to no interest, but after a series of discussions with potential operators, interest increased significantly. Bill Payer, the Lassen County Fair manager, noted that all interested parties were informed about the new RFP and its updates. The current RFP is available on the county’s website, and it is hoped that this round will attract multiple bids, unlike the previous attempts which received either no responses or proposals that were ultimately rejected.
