CAL FIRE Lassen-Modoc Unit continues the Wendel fuels reduction project, successfully treating 250 acres.
You will see crews and smoke from the area through this week as the ag burn continues in efforts to clear 760 acres in the Honey Lake Wildlife Refuge. Officials ask that you do not report the smoke in the area. The project is expected to last for up to two weeks.
The burn is in cooperation with the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife to improve the area’s natural habitat.
