If you have a home in Lassen County, the American Red Cross is helping you protect your home and loved ones through a new Sound the Alarm Program. Under the program, you can install a free smoke detector and have a red cross volunteer test your current alarms, develop a fire escape plan, and provide you with tips and training for your household. The non-profit says seven lives are lost in home fires nationwide every day. Through the Sound, the Alarm program, the REd Cross aims to help families be prepared and to act quickly in the event of a fire. To learn more and participate in the program, you can email [email protected].
