Volunteers with the Washoe County Search and Rescue Specialized Vehicle Unit and Gerlach deputies rescued a family lost north of Gerlach last night due to the weekends torrential storm conditions.
A family of three were traveling between Cedarville and Empire last night where the dirt road they were driving on was saturated causing their vehicle to slide off the road and becomes stuck in the mud.
With spotty cell service, only one of the distress calls made by the family were received by the dispatch center.
Crews were thankful they were able to locate them and get them to safety with no injures.
