Redding, Calif. — On Friday, law enforcement officials responded to a potential threat at Manzanita Elementary School following an email warning of a possible explosive device on the premises. Although the credibility of the threat was in question, the Redding Police Department took precautionary measures by evacuating the school to ensure the safety of students and staff.
School Resource Officers, in coordination with patrol officers, conducted a comprehensive search of classrooms and the entire school campus. After a detailed inspection, no suspicious devices were discovered, and authorities declared the school safe.
Following the all-clear from police, Manzanita Elementary resumed normal activities, with students returning to their classrooms. The incident underscores the importance of safety protocols and the swift response by local law enforcement in potential emergency situations.
