Amazon  announced on June 4th, the launch of its new delivery station in Redding, California, bringing faster, more reliable delivery to customers across the Northern California region. As the site continues to ramp up over the next few weeks, customers in Redding and surrounding communities can expect quicker shipping speeds on millions of items sold on Amazon.
The new 94,500 square foot facility is part of Amazon’s $4 billion investment to expand its rural delivery network, with a focus on reaching customers in small towns and less densely populated areas across the United States. The Redding station will power the last mile of Amazon’s delivery process — getting packages from the network to customers’ doorsteps faster than ever before.
In August 2025, Amazon hosted a groundbreaking ceremony with local policymakers to celebrate the construction of the new facility — a milestone that reflected the community’s enthusiasm and support for the project. Today’s launch marks the completion of that vision, as the station begins delivering for Redding-area customers.

“We’re excited to launch our operations in Redding and bring faster delivery to customers across Northern California. This community welcomed us with open arms at our groundbreaking last August, and today marks the fulfillment of that shared vision. Whether it’s everyday essentials or hard-to-find items, customers here now have access to the same fast, reliable delivery that millions of Americans count on,” said Natalie Banke, Amazon Spokesperson.

Delivering for the Redding Community
The new delivery station also creates opportunities for local residents to earn extra income through Amazon Flex, a program that allows individuals to deliver packages on their own schedule using their own vehicle. Interested drivers can learn more and sign up at flex.amazon.com.

Additionally, local entrepreneurs can explore Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner (DSP) program, which helps individuals build and grow their own delivery businesses. More information is available at logistics.amazon.com.

Rebecca Baer, President and CEO, Shasta Economic Development Corporation expressed enthusiasm for the new service, stating “Faster delivery is a game-changer for Redding. Our residents and local businesses have long waited for the same shipping speeds that larger metro areas enjoy, and Amazon’s new delivery station makes that a reality. This is exactly the kind of investment that improves quality of life and keeps our community competitive.”

Amazon’s Growing Presence in California
The Redding delivery station adds to Amazon’s growing footprint in California, which includes more than 150,000 full- and part-time employees across the state. Since 2010, the company has invested more than $240 billion in the Golden State through infrastructure development and employee compensation.
