High-Speed Rescue: Spider Monkey Saved from Luxury Car Chase

A one-month-old spider monkey is safe and in the care of the Oakland Zoo after being rescued from a speeding Rolls Royce Ghost in Madera County, California.
The monkey was discovered during a traffic stop by a Madera California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer on Monday.
The driver, who was found to be under the influence, was arrested and faces charges including driving under the influence, possession of cannabis for sale, and possession of an exotic animal.
The spider monkey, prohibited as a pet in California, was initially taken into care by Madera County Animal Control before being transferred to the Oakland Zoo by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
