North State Congressman James Gallagher has announced his committee assignments for the 119th Congress, where he will serve on three House committees.
According to Gallagher’s office, the freshman congressman has been appointed to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
In a statement, Gallagher said he looks forward to serving on the committees and called the assignments an opportunity to advocate for the interests of Northern California and the state’s First Congressional District.
Gallagher also thanked House Speaker Mike Johnson and Majority Leader Steve Scalise for the appointments.
His office says the committee assignments will give him the opportunity to work on issues affecting the North State, including transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, water resources, energy, and public safety, while also participating in discussions on foreign policy and science and technology issues.
Gallagher was elected to represent California’s First Congressional District earlier this year. The district includes all or parts of several Northern California counties, including Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Sierra, Siskiyou, Shasta, and Tehama.
