Even the cost of hunting license are increasing across the state. Next year you will have to pay an extra 10 dollars for your game bird and duck hunting licenses. The increase aims to collect 2 million dollars annually to fund the Nesting bird Habitat Incentive Program. The 10 dollar surcharge was signed into AB 614 by Governor Gavin Newsom this past October. CDFW will manage the program to benefit ducks, pheasants, and other grassland dependant species through habitat restoration in wildlife areas or as an incentive to homeowners to grow or maintain upland landscapes. Duck and Game bird Hunting validations will be available on April 15th for the next hunting season at a cost of nearly 35 and 22 dollars each.
