After an extraordinary career marked by championships, leadership, academic excellence, and statewide recognition, Feather River College volleyball standout Teya Gibbs has signed her Division I National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of New Orleans.
A two-sport standout for the Golden Eagles in both indoor and beach volleyball, Gibbs leaves Feather River College as one of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history. Throughout her career, she helped lead Feather River College to conference dominance, two 3C2A State Championships, and two Beach Volleyball Final Four appearances while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.
“Teya has been the complete student-athlete,” said Head Coach Sarah Ritchie. “She has excelled in the classroom, served as a tremendous leader, competed at the highest level, and represented Feather River College with tremendous pride. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishments and excited to watch her continue her journey at the University of New Orleans.”
State Champion and All-American
As the team’s setter and floor leader, she helped guide the Golden Eagles to a 2025 3C2A State Championship, a No. 1 AVCA ranking, and a Golden Valley Conference Championship. Along the way, she earned AVCA Third Team All-American honors and established herself as one of the top setters in California community college volleyball.

As the quarterback of the Golden Eagles’ offense, Gibbs helped lead Feather River College to its finest season in Feather River College and 3C2A history. She played a pivotal role in bringing another state championship trophy back to Quincy.

Gibbs carried that same success onto the beach volleyball courts, where she developed into one of California’s premier two-year college beach volleyball players.

Her leadership helped guide the Golden Eagles to a Golden Valley Conference Championship and a berth in the 3C2A Beach Volleyball State Championship Final Four.
Entering the 2026 season, Gibbs was selected to the AVCA Two-Year College Beach Players to Watch list, recognizing her as one of the premier returning beach volleyball student-athletes in two-year college volleyball (Nationally).
A Legacy of Leadership
Beyond the awards and accolades, Gibbs became one of the most respected leaders in Feather River College Athletics.
Serving as a captain for both the indoor volleyball and beach volleyball programs, she helped establish and maintain the championship culture that has become synonymous with Golden Eagles Volleyball. Her commitment, consistency, and leadership set the standard for future student-athletes and played a significant role in the success of both programs.
Few student-athletes leave behind a résumé as complete as Gibbs’.

Her signing represents the next step in a remarkable journey that began in Quincy and now continues at the NCAA Division I level.
