Allen Beauregard Pruitt
1957-2026

Allen Beauregard Pruitt was unexpectedly called to his next great adventure Sept. 7, 2026. Allen was born Dec. 4, 1957, in Portola to Robert and Janette Pruitt.

His childhood was spent developing his lifelong passion for sports, the outdoors and entertaining those he loved. After graduating from Portola High School in 1975, he attended California State University, Chico.

He started his 37-year railroad career in 1978, hiring on with Western Pacific and retiring as an engineer from Union Pacific in 2015. Undoubtedly, his greatest work accomplishment was the lifelong friendships he formed with his coworkers.

Allen married the love of his life, Sandra, in 1981 and first became a father in 1983. Whether it was coaching, chaperoning school trips or just a quick evening fishing trip up at Lake Davis, Allen loved being involved with his kids and sharing their interests. Everyone who knew Al enjoyed his relaxed and fun attitude. His smile was contagious, and his laugh would make your day. If a favor was ever asked or an errand ever needed, he could not say no because his heart was so kind.

Allen is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra; children, Jacob (Emilee), Kaileen (Brandon), and Cole; six grandchildren, Andrew, Ainsleigh, Kaleb, Paige, Evelyn, and Cadence;  brothers, Robbie (Michell) and Tim; sisters-in-law, La Queta Audette (Michael) and Donna Villagomez (Sam); along with many nieces and nephews. His spirit joins those of his parents, Robert and Janette, and his sister Teresa.

Services will be held Oct. 3, 2026, at The Station Church in Portola at 11 a.m., followed by a celebration at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Portola.
