Winter Weather Advisory for Lassen Park and Western Plumas County

Snow plows have been out on hwy 44, as well as near Adin and on 395 to Alturas this morning but there are no reports of needing chains if you will be travelling through those higher elevations this morning. An advisory has been issued by the National weather service for Winter weather in Western Plumas County and the Lassen National Park in areas above 6,000 feet.
7 to 10 inches of snow are expected across the higher passes, and even up to 2 feet around Lassen Park. Snow levels are expected to rise to 6,500 to 7,500 feet by mid-day today. Do plan to pack chains just in case, but you can now check the Cal trans quick map on our website, sierra daily news dot com for the latest chain controls throughout the area.
There is also a high wind advisory on hwy 36 in Susanville issued by CHP as of 130 this morning. Cal trans has also put an advisory for high profile vehicles due to high winds from the state line through 395, travel is not recommended.
