Westwood Community Center to finally receive much-needed repairs after a five-year wait.
The Westwood Community Center has been waiting to fix the facility’s plumbing, heating, and air and add a backup generator for use during emergencies such as wildfires and extreme cold. The Community Development Block Grant will fund the project. The County Board of Supervisors directed Lassen County Health and Social Services to move forward on repairs to the Center. The President, Treasurer, and chamber member expressed to the Supervisors the difficulty they have had through the years in explaining to the community why sinks leak or why the room temperature never meets the needs of visitors. Clip. These upgrades will allow the community center to welcome more events and provide a critical meeting place for the community.
