Visitor Restrictions in Place at Banner Lassen MC as Flu and Respiratory Illness on the Rise

The restrictions include:

Children under 13 are not allowed to visit patients in their rooms. If bringing siblings to an appointment, children under 13 must stay in the waiting area with an adult.

If you are experiencing a fever, cough, vomiting, or diarrhea, you are asked not to visit patients.
Siblings may visit newborns but may be screened for illness before entering the room.

Visitors are highly encouraged to wash or sanitize their hands frequently while at the hospital to prevent getting the Flu or potentially spreading any illness.

Executive director of infection prevention at Banner Health says the hospital “implements restrictions during this time of year to keep everyone safe and help prevent the spread of infection.” Banner Medical experts have been closely monitoring this year’s flu and respiratory virus season and say you are encouraged to get the flu vaccine despite hospitalizations remaining low. However, if you choose to get yours, a reminder you won’t be fully protected for up to two weeks after your vaccination.
