Two people have been arrested following separate shoplifting investigations in Susanville that police say were linked through surveillance footage.

According to the Susanville Police Department, officers first responded to a reported shoplifting incident at Walmart on June 20. Investigators identified a female suspect through store surveillance video and opened an investigation.

A second shoplifting report was received on June 23 from Ace Hardware. Police say surveillance footage from that incident showed both a male and female suspect. During the investigation, officers determined the female suspect matched the individual allegedly involved in the earlier Walmart theft.

Police later located the pair at a location where they were staying and confirmed their identities using surveillance footage.

As a result of the investigation, officers arrested 36-year-old Kristina Lee and 28-year-old Tyler Pomelow on charges related to grand theft and conspiracy.

Both suspects were booked into the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility.

Authorities say a significant amount of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the businesses. Photographs released by the department show a variety of recovered items, including tools, clothing, outdoor equipment, and other merchandise.

The Susanville Police Department credited Walmart and Ace Hardware for promptly reporting the incidents and assisting with the investigations. The department also thanked the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office for its assistance in recovering the stolen property.

As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
