Quincy CHP says 64-year-old Mark McCormick of Idaho was traveling along 395 just south of Hwy70 Sunday evening when he lost control of his vehicle. Authorities believe at this time he experienced a medical emergency that forced his Toyota truck into the center median and hit a lark drainage, before continuing down the highway until the truck finally came to a stop.

Drivers who witnessed the scene called 9-1-1 and stopped to help McCormick, yet he was unresponsive. After attempts to resuscitate McCormick by first responders, he was pronounced dead.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
