PG&E faces yet another multi-million dollar lawsuit, this time from timber companies affected by the Dixie Fire.

Collins Pine Co., with a location in Chester, is part of the coalition seeking $225 million in damages. The lawsuit, filed last Wednesday, cites the destruction of 55,000 acres of forest land in the Collins Almanor Forest, significant damage to a lumber mill, and the loss of valuable timber.

The lawsuit blames PG&E for the fire, which engulfed nearly a million acres in 2021 and destroyed commercial-grade timber, trees, roads, structures, and more. It alleges negligence, recklessness, and failure to adhere to safety protocols.

Alongside Collins Pine Company (CPC), the plaintiffs include various entities from Oregon, Delaware, and Illinois, including CC&H Lands, CCT Lands, Rock Creek Lands, E.S. Collins California Trust, TWC Corporation (owned by CPC), and Wespath Forests LLC.
