The Maidu Consortium is hosting this event in partnership with The Almanor Foundation and Feather River Tourism Association and will feature more Madiu traditions.
The opening will present the opening ceremonies in the Maidu language and feature more traditional songs. Each competition of Long Axe handles throwing matches, and the famous handsaw will allow participants to win big with a cash prize of $325, with the primary winner walking away with 1,000 dollars from Collins Pines company. The event is free to watch, but you can help in the Forest Restoration Program by purchasing seedlings that will be planted in the Forest.
