Construction is back in full swing as Swinerton Builders returns to Alturas for the development of the Mountain View Skilled Nursing Facility and Hospital Addition, scheduled to open its doors in Spring 2025.

Bolstering medical access in Alturas, the Modoc Medical Center shares that construction activity is resuming with Swinerton Builders’ return to the city.

Anticipation has been building for the expansion, which, upon its completion in spring 2025, promises to enhance healthcare services in the community.

However, as construction ramps up, if you are in the area, you will be impacted by a temporary road closure that will impact N. Nagle Street. Beginning Tuesday, April 16, the City of Alturas will close N. Nagle to thru traffic, affecting the roadway from the south entrance to the intersection of N. Nagle and 8th Street.

To access the Mountain View Skilled Nursing Facility and Hospital Addition site during this closure, you can access the north entrance by Highway 299. The closure is estimated to last one week, and updates will be provided as the situation evolves.

Given the significance of N. Nagle Street as the primary access point to the construction site, congestion and delays are expected throughout the project duration. You are encouraged to seek alternative routes if possible to minimize disruption.

As Alturas eagerly awaits the completion of this vital healthcare infrastructure, the return of construction signals a significant step forward in realizing the community’s vision of enhanced medical facilities.
